I don’t know how this makes me feel

It makes me feel very uncomfortable

You know what’s so uncomfortable about this? It shows that perhaps one of the most evil men in history, was a human being. That, on occasion, he could be nice, even flirty. That’s not all. You want to see evil people as evil, screaming horrible stuff over a desk with 20 microphones with 20, 000 people saluting them. The evil is clear and recognizable then. This shows a completely different image, it scares you because that means that evil isn’t a stereotype, that evil is not recognizable, that evil could be anyone. It scares you because this shows that could be lurking inside anyone and you’ll never ever know. Maybe in you?

That comment is one of my favorite post commentaries, because it’s completely right. People aren’t inherently evil. Like good, it’s a role they grow and live into. We have just as much potential to destroy as this man exhibited. And it’s a very eye opening experience to realize that.

does anyone even remember that one time hitler attended that luncheon between world leaders, some guests of which even included china’s socialist leader as well as Stalin. And then when they were ordering, everyone was gladly ordering impressive dishes one after the other, but Hitler placed an order for barley tea and a pheasant (considered a peasant’s meal by standard). When he was questioned as to why he would order something like this in something as grand as a world leader’s congress, he replied,

“I don’t smoke when my people cannot smoke, and I cannot eat when my people are going hungry.”

He wasn’t evil for its own sake, let’s try to remember that despite the countless murders, but for a moment, he did actually believe he was doing something for the good of his countrymen.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE

No, he’s right. Hitler, though extremely wrong in his views, did everything for what he thought would better the lives of his people. It was wrong. It was disgustingly, horribly wrong. But he did not do it because it was evil and he was evil. He did it because he believed it would help Germany and those who needed a better life. Those who don’t understand or even try to understand the human brain will always label men like him as ‘evil’ because it is easier to accept. But he wasn’t ‘evil.’ He felt love and loyalty and responsibilities. He simply took these aspects and morphed them into a twisted, violent thing.

Tumblr is probably the only place we could have this conversation and not be lynched.

To put into context, Germany was one of the countries heavily affected by WW1. The country was riddled with the debt of war, the Treaty of Versailles was unfair for them and pretty much fucked them over, the crazy hyperinflation in their economy… The people were angry and suffering from a war they were (in a basic view) dragged into. For all the horrible things Hitler commanded, at the root of those actions was a belief that it was all for the benefit of Germany, for its people, to bring them out of their suffering toward a better future.

I’m not saying Hitler’s actions are forgivable or that people shouldn’t be mad for what he and those under his command (Himmler!) did, but people aren’t black and white. And since history is basically a record, or a story, of the developments and actions of humans over the ages, it would be a mistake to view the characters who play their parts in it so one-dimensionally.

I never want to lose this commentary. You people are amazing, and are saying what I’ve been trying to tell my class for years.

I think this is my favorite tumblr post of all time

though he did think what he was doing was for the common good (and yes germany did get out of the post wwi depression a lot faster than other countries because of the nazi party) i still can’t not consider him evil, or at least “bad.” it’s hard for me to look at hitler and say “oh well he wasn’t evil he was just doing what he thought was right!” well then he was fucked up. sorry. if that makes me an ignorant fuck awesome

You can’t honestly sit there thinking that Hitler thought it was a brilliant idea to murder millions of jews for the purpose of helping Germany, he was a racist, that’s what it comes down to. Who actually says “Hey! I know how we can help Germany! We could exterminate a few thousand people and chuck them in concentration camps, tearing them away from their families. That will surely work!” Just because he had a personality and feelings doesn’t make any difference to the fact he committed genocide.

If I threw on pictures of naked boys, or girls, would you stop to read, or even stop to glance? If even I threw on a picture of Revolution, American Horror Stories, or 90210, would you stop and read? If I put on pictures of guys in politics you actually recognized like Obama or Romney, some of you would even stop and read then. If I put Jesus or God on this post I am sure even more of you would stop to read, but here is the issue, no one cares and when no one cares there is a consequence we all pay. The consequence is never achieving your full potential, oh you want to be a writer, well you can write 100 books but with love for everyone together linked by our consciousnesses, maybe you could have written 100,000 or more books. You want to be a musician? Oh you got creative and wrote 70 songs, but with the love and understanding that no man thinks more independently then his sister, you may have composed 700 songs or more. You want to be an actress? You preformed in 40 performances so far? With love and everyone starting to wake up to it, loving each other as our ancient ancestors knew to, you may have preformed in 1,000,000 performances, why so drastic?? Because when we see that we are living and being pushed into fear, our genes actually shut themselves off, we are born with 62 matches but the average human today can only turn on 20. You have 62, if you turned all of those on imagine all the notebooks being wirtten, all the UP’s being written, all the twilight, if you will, all the love stories that would be created because it was finally unlocked. I can’t fathom what our world was like in the past, when the pyramids were first built or the ancients first created civilizations. But I can fathom a future where I want kids and believe they will be just fine because the world they are in shares love, there is love everywhere and when I am gone or not around, they are still loved.

So with that if you want to continue living in fear, go ahead but I have some more questions for you, are you awake? Do you really live life? ARE YOU HAPPY?

you contradict yourself, primarily throughout this entire post. You are saying we have freedoms to do as we please, but if someone is willing to intrude on those freedoms they may. It doesn’t work like that baby, if you give someone rights, you are essentially giving gays the right over the ignorance of another party, in this case the C.E.O that is against the gays.

Thousands of protesters demanded fair wages, equal access to education, an immediate end to home evictions & more funding for basic healthcare services.

We’ve all seen the campaign posters. There’s a spot near my house that I drive by every day that now boasts a few Scott brown posters that I’d like to drive over at some point. We’ve all seen the commercials, heard the insults that fly. We’ve all been lied to, and exposed to political propaganda.

It would behoove all of us to remember that there is no such thing as a good politician (except maybe Ron Paul?). Additionally, whenever any politician promises to create jobs and lower taxes, they LIE. The only jobs politicians can create are government jobs…and those salaries are paid with our tax money. So take it all with a grain of salt, and try not to let your political beliefs interfere with anything in life that ACTUALLY matters.

Just think about it. It is now believed that the western diet is responsible for nearly all our modern diseases. The food industry is so powerful that the market will continue to be flooded with crap food and we are getting sicker all the time. Advertising pushes it at us all the time. I can’t watch a movie without someone telling me how great this or that ice cream is and yet it is full of chemicals. it is chemicals, sugar and fat dressed up as food. Time to make changes?

These days I only eat foods that my grandmother would have recognised as food!
